More Summer 2009 Pics!!
December in Macedonia
Youth members of
Pro Futuro were in Macedonia from the 12-20th of December 2007 for the youth
exchange „New European Leaders. Marta, Marta, Simona, Elita and Liva
came back with lots to share with other Pro Futuro youth members.
Here is what
some of our participants said:
Elita
For me it was a
very good experiance, especially - as a leader, because it was the first time
as the leader, so i felt a big responsibility not only about girls, but also
about Latvia as a country. ...i am very very greatful for what they gave me, i
would know nothing now, if i didnt go there! i am even inspired to write my
own project about Environment, only i dont know if im able to do that,
because of lack of time, but i guess i just have to wish more and then
everything can happen!
I dont even know what to say about the project.. I am very happy i went
there, ... i met some really great people, they all were friendly and we had
a very good time working in temas during the workshops, making our own
projects or (my favourite) pretending that we are going to organizations
to ask for funds...
Marta T.
The Macedonia
exchange was very interesting and full of fun.
The experience was good and very useful. I learned some new thing about
leaderships, how to make projects and it was good to my english.
It was great to meet all the different people from different countries and to
learn something about their lifestyle and traditions.
Liva
This project
helped me understand many stereotypes about other countries and peoples. It
was interesting to hear about the problems of democracies and
„musclemen” and how very intellectual others, for example the
Romanians, are. The 10 days in Macedonia was really a EuroCocktail and a good
school for communication.

Macedonia
exchange was full of different experience..
There we had a good, fantastic and also not so good experience... as it is
always-
something good and something not so good:)
So- it was great to meet all those people, to know something more about their
traditions and life style. It was interesting to see how Macedonians are
living...
In our every day workshops we discussed about leadership and how to make a
projects...for me it's very good experience!
September
in Macedonia
Youth
members of Pro Futuro participated in the Youth in Action project
“Equal Opportunities- Better Europe” in Ohrid, Macedonia. We
lived for 8 days with great people from Macedonia, Serbia, Albania, Romania
and Estonia.
The
conversation was intense. We spoke and shared about various topics about
creating Equal Opportunities for many socially marginalized people and groups
in Europe. We worked together on activities that helped us individually and
collectively to explore identity, culture, stereotypes and other
challenging areas.
Of
course it wasn't all work. For the Latvians and Estonians especially, we had
a week long return to summer. We worked and swam at beautiful beaches and
enjoyed evenings and nights in night clubs and in conversation about our
common challenges as youth in a changing Europe.
Baiba,
Martiņs, Ieva and Jānis were great contributors and we shed more
than a few tears when we left our new friends and came home. We will build on
our new friendships and insights.

From
our last day together. A roving photo exhibition. If
you want to see the what we are wearing please click here.
For everybody who is interested in the famous "Egils
map" here it is!
Pro Futuro visits Italy
Two Pro Futuro representatives attended the seminar "How to communicate
European information to the young people: Provide innovative support and
become efficient intermediaries” in Reggio Calabria, Italy from 4th-9th
June 2007. We came home energized and full of new ideas and insights about
how to make information about the EU and specific organisation
messages clear and focused.
We met other youth organisations from Italy, Portugal, Romania, Estonia,
Hungary, France, Belgium, Spain. We have many ideas for further common
projects.

We forced ourselves to have some fun..
